Gwang-su’s Film Factory

Film education textbook

“Gwang-su’s Film Factory” consists of ‘Gwang-su’s Film Factory’ (book), one of the ‘Korean Film Archive Film Story Series’ books published earlier and a motion picture (DVD), the DVD version of this book. Both the book and the DVD provide a detailed introduction to the overall Korean film making process so that interested students and the general public can gain access to rich information on Korean film production sites. In particular, the DVD deals with the production process on which readers’ interest will be focused by presenting screens of real film locations with respect to the filmmaking process described in the book. Filmmaking image sources for the movies produced so far by Youth Film including “Wa-ni and Jun-ha” (2001), “The Red Shoes” (2005), “Old Miss Diary” (2007), etc. are used as planned jointly by the Korean Film Archive and Kimjo Gwang-su, president of Youth Film. Consisting of four chapters ? Pre-Production, Production, Post-Production, and Marketing, the 64-minute long DVD also contains an abundance of images including scenes of people working in each stage, interviews with experts for each part, and captions for an accurate description of film terms. ‘Gwang-su’s Film Factory’ is available at big bookstores, Internet bookstores, and DVD stores across the country.
