Kim Kee-duk, On the Front Line of Korean Genre Films

The English version of Illumination Series 04 < Kim Kee-duk, the front line of Korean public?genre movies in the 1960s >, fourth outcome of the “Illumination Series” jointly planned and published by the Korean Film Archive and the Busan International Film Festival, fourth Illumination Series following 『Kim Seoung-ho: Face of Father, Portrait of Korean Cinema』in 2007,『Han Hyung-mo: An Alchemist of Popular/Genre』in 2008, and『Everything She Allowed: Star, Actress, and Kim Ji-mee』in 2010 showcase the life and works of Director Kim Kee-duk, the main character of the Retrospective Exhibit in the 16th Busan International Film Festival. Professor Joo You-shin of the Department of Film and Image of Youngsan University, Programmer Kang So-won of the Busan International Film Festival Korean Movie Retrospective Exhibit, and Oh Yeong-suk who is a professor of the East Asia Institute of Sungkonghoe University as well as a film history researcher participated as authors. In addition, the list of works of Director Kim Kee-duk who took charge of an axis of popular movies in the 1960s while becoming the talk of the town many times and interesting articles related to his major works are contained in the appendices.
