Joseon Films in Japanese Magazine 2

The second volume of the “Chosun Movies as Seen through Japanese Magazines” series is published by the Korean Movie History Institute of the Korean Film Archive with widened scope work to overseas literature data; this book contains translations of Chosun movie-related articles published in 『Kinema Ten-day Report』, a representative movie magazine in the Japanese colonial era, and 『Japanese Movies』and 『New Movies』as national propaganda magazines of the Japanese Empire.

The 『Kinema Ten-day Report』that started to be published in 1919 deals with the Chosun movie world in two aspects -- production and screening -- through articles numbering approximately 100 from 1924 as the initial stage of Chosun movie production; thus, related contents largely have the nature of record excavation.
