Korean films and 4.19 Revolution:
Snapshot of Korean films in the early 1960s
This book was written by a new research team consisting of Hanyang University graduates who received a prize in recognition of the excellence of their work titled “Korean Movie and 4.19 Revolution” in the 2009 Research Project Awards organized by the Korean Film Archive.
These new researchers conducted a year-long examination on the Korean film world and Korean films in the period before and after the 4.19 Revolution in 1960 from a comprehensive standpoint.
During the seminar, their presentation revolved around the theme related to the Korean movie industry, foundation of the Motion Picture Code of Ethics Committee, film adaptation of pure literature, and pattern of historical dramas based on the Joseon Dynasty during the Second Republic.
