Film Archvie Story

This book gives an introduction to the work process of an archivist to shed light on the history of film archive, history of films, and identity of discovered films. In addition, it features the author’s personal travel diary about film museums and film archives around the globe, along with a variety of photos personally taken by the author; thus giving a realistic feel of viewing the Crazy Cinematography in the film museum in Torino, Italy or at Cinematech in Luxemburg. The latter half of this book contains the diary of the author, written while he was studying at the School of Film Preservation of George Eastman House. It provides a detailed description of the archiving curriculum and courses that run for 4 quarters over a period of 10 months. The book also carries interesting stories about the difficulties and troubles encountered by the author as a beginning archivist while working at the Korean Film Archive along with some episodes, The appendix includes a glossary and a list of books related to film archive and major film archives and serves as useful guide to people interested in films and film archive.
