The Korean Cinema in Newspapers: 1945-1957

This book is a collection of newspaper articles from 1945, right after Liberation, to 1957, when Korean cinema was beginning to rise. This book is an extensive compilation of more than 2,000 related articles from a variety of newspapers including minor publications such as Art Sources, JoseonJungang, Jungoe as well as five major dailies such as Joseon, Donga, Kyeonghyang, Hanguk, and Seoul. It will be especially helpful for grasping the cinema circle during the period from 1945 to 1950 when there was little research on Korean cinema. The articles are chronologically arranged by year, and the index of articles, actors, actresses, and film titles in the back of the book will serve as a great historical reference tool.
