Curator's Choice - September

September's Curator's Choice presents La Chimera (2023), a film by Alice Rohrwacher, one of the most acclaimed female directors in contemporary Italian cinema. Set in 1980s Italy, the story follows Artu, a tomb raider drifting through life in search of his lost lover. Blending mythic imagination with social allegory, the film unfolds through Rohrwacher’s distinctive cinematic language, where longing, loss, and the greed surrounding ancient relics blur the lines between fantasy and reality, leaving a lingering resonance with the audience.
